At the young age of 20, Shri Shivkishan Rathi leaves for Mumbai to achieve something in his life to honor his family and establishes Kaleen.
For more than 50 years, Kaleen has built a reputation as a leading manufacturer, importer, and distributor of multi-category resources in today’s floor covering market, working with designers and retailers to provide beautiful top-quality rugs, carpets, and home accessories for homes around the world.
Kaleen is headquartered in Mumbai, India, and has three manufacturing units in Bikaner, Mirzapur, and Panipat where yarn rugs and broadloom are produced and shipped, using various international operations. Kaleen's United States office and distribution center is located in Dalton, Georgia. Our point of pride and commitment to customer satisfaction reflects the proven success for over 50 years within the textile industry. The strength of Kaleen’s skilled artisans allows for many opportunities no matter the size or complexity of the project. Kaleen purchases its first factory located in Mirzapur, India, certified with ISO 9000 & SA8000.
After seeing how climate change was negatively affecting the earth, Kaleen transitions to eco-friendly energy in its manufacturing facilities.
Kaleen starts manufacturing broadloom at its Indian factories, unveiling the Broadloom Division at The International Surface Event (TISE).
Kaleen breaks ground on a state-of-the-art factory in Panipat, India.
Kaleen launches Pure Life, its all-natural broadloom line.
Kaleen launches Hook & Beam, its line of machine-made broadloom, as well as Luxe, a high-end line of hand-knotted rugs and broadloom.
Kaleen Custom Broadloom is introduced, allowing customers to order carpet in various shapes and sizes.
Kaleen launches Home and Porch, its new line of Indoor/Outdoor performance broadloom.
Kaleen is now producing oversized broadloom rolls up to 22 x 100 feet in its most loved styles and has expanded its custom rug capabilities to include custom shapes.

The late Shivkishan Rathi, the father of Radhe and Monty Rathi, left his home of Bikaner, Rajasthan India at a young age. In his late 20s, he was able to achieve his dream when he arrived in Mumbai, the business capital of India. In the early 1980s, he formed a textile company that produced ladies’ clothing, fabrics, and men’s clothing. He always believed in vertical manufacturing to control quality, cut out the middlemen, and pass the savings on to customers. Through hard work and passion, the dream became reality. Kaleen soon grew and achieved success in the textile industry. As the business and family grew, Kaleen quickly formed a distribution arm in the USA in 1997, Kaleen Rugs & Broadloom.
Kaleen as a marketing division formed a distribution center in the Carpet Capital of the World, Dalton, Georgia. Kaleen’s North American distribution center has over 250,000 square feet, which distributes rugs and broadloom across the United States and Canada.
